Kevin M. Baumlin, M.D.,

President, Founder

Kevin M. Baumlin, MD, FACEP, is the Chair of Emergency Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, and Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine for the Perelman School of Medicine. Kevin has a lifelong connection to Pennsylvania; he was born in Philadelphia at Hahnemann Hospital, where he also went to Medical School, and interned at Crozer, in Chester.  He joined Penn Medicine four years ago as a globally recognized physician leader, and an accomplished clinician with a unique combination of applied capabilities including informatics, operational innovation, and quality and performance improvement.

 

With more than 25 years of professional experience in caring for patients, educating students and creating small businesses, Kevin came to Penn from his role as Chair of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Prior to that role, Kevin was Vice Chair and Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

Patrick M. Mahanger,  M.B.A., Treasurer, Founder

Patrick M. Mahanger is the Chief Operating Officer for the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Pennsylvania Health System, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Mahanger earned his Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Columbia University in New York City. Earlier, he graduated from York University in Toronto, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.  Prior to his current role, Mr. Mahanger was the Global Head of Strategy and Change Management with Goldman Sachs Operations Risk Management in New York.  

 

Patrick is a seasoned executive with an extensive background, and successful history, working both nationally and internationally.  His expertise is in the areas of business process management, talent acquisition and development, change and risk management, and the development and delivery of complex strategic initiatives with significant financial impact.

Chuck Soldano, Vice President

With more than 30 years as a construction manager and interior designer specializing in residential design, Chuck Soldano is known for his creative approach and ability to transform spaces while keeping the needs of clients at the forefront. In 2003, Chuck created Work In Progress, Inc., an interior design, renovation and construction management company that brings his vision and expertise to both large and small scale projects.  

Chuck received a BA in Interior Design from the American College for the Applied Arts (now American InterContinental University.) The opportunity to pursue higher education put Chuck,  then a young, gay teen from a small town, on a path to a successful career that has enabled him to travel the world and engage with a broad range of diverse and dynamic people.

Phyllis Pastore, Secretary

Phyllis Pastore is a life-long advocate for charitable organizations and her work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor brings a hands-on perspective to issues related to special needs groups. Phyllis earned an MS Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, University of Northern Colorado, was Director of Rehabilitation for Goodwill Industries of Tulsa, and worked for NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital in New York City. She also spent 25 years with a major corporate law firm where she acted as the community outreach liaison, partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, The NY Foundling, NY Food Pantry, Covenant House and the YWCA of Greater New York. Phyllis furthered vocational education planning within the law firm and facilitated mock trials and in-house job fairs for students.

Phyllis has a passion for music and is recognized as a world-class cabaret singer. In recent years, she has ventured into acting and can be seen in The Many Saints of Newark, the feature film based on The Sopranos. Her life and work came full circle when she appeared in a national commercial for Goodwill Industries, the organization where she began her vocational rehabilitation career.
